About This Call
The Kansas City Artists Coalition's Undergraduate College Student Exhibition is the 13th annual juried competition offering undergraduate college students the opportunity to exhibit their work in the Coalition's galleries. The exhibition runs April 11-25, 2008, with an opening reception on April 11 from 5-8 p.m.
Eligibility is open to currently enrolled undergraduate college students in the metropolitan Kansas City area and colleges in Western Missouri and Eastern Kansas, including Sedalia, Maryville, Warrensburg, Springfield, Joplin, St. Joseph, Manhattan, Emporia, Lawrence, and Topeka. Students must submit proof of Spring 2008 registration when delivering accepted work. Students may enter 1-3 artworks in any media. All entries must be original work completed in the last two years and not previously shown in KCAC Galleries. Two-dimensional work must be framed and wired for installation; works on paper should be framed under plexiglas. Sculpture must not weigh over 150 lbs. Video artists should submit still images online and mail a DVD to Student Exhibition, KCAC, 201 Wyandotte, Kansas City, MO 64105 by March 10, 2008. If accepted, video artists must provide display equipment for the duration of the exhibition.
The entry deadline is March 10, 2008 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Artists will be notified of acceptance beginning March 24 via email. Accepted works must be hand-delivered on Saturday, April 5 between 11-4 p.m. and picked up April 26 between 11-4 p.m. KCAC will take a 30% commission on work sold from the exhibition. KCAC provides insurance for the exhibition. The juror is Hesse McGraw, a freelance curator and writer based in New York City.
