Undercurrent

Gallery 114 invites artists to submit work for the exhibition Undercurrent, which explores the invisible forces that shape our lives and the interplay between what is seen and what lies beneath—emotions, memories, and societal currents that often go unnoticed. The exhibition opens the possibilities for interpreting this theme in many ways, encouraging both emerging and established artists to apply.

The exhibition opens on First Thursday, January 2, 5-8 pm, and will be open to the public Thursday-Sunday, 12-5 throughout the month. Work will also be accessible to view on the Gallery 114 website. All artwork must be hand delivered. Eligible applicants are persons within the greater Portland area and region, including Vancouver, WA, 18 years or older.

Applications require up to 3 images or videos of artworks, media information for each work (title, media, dimensions, price), a paid entry fee of $35, and a brief description of how your work reflects the theme. Works will be judged on conceptual and aesthetic quality and overall artistic merit. All media types (2D, 3D, and video) are welcome. Individual works should not exceed 7 feet in height and 5 feet in width, and prices for a single piece should not exceed $5,000. All artwork must be original design and personal execution.
