Under Sail: Experiences, People, and Destinations

Under Sail is a juried international photography exhibition showcasing photographic images of the sailing experience, its people, and its destinations. Whether seen from sea, land, or air, sailing vessels have had a timeless attraction for many. For centuries, sailing has harnessed the power of the wind to propel us across water, ice, or land. In whatever way sailing has touched your life, captured your attention, or intrigued you, submit your photography expressing that experience.

Jurors are Paul M Murray, an internationally recognized color photographer and journalistic writer, and Daniel Forster, a Swiss-born photographer who has covered thirteen America's Cups and twelve Olympic Games. Artists of all levels who are at least 18 years or older are invited to enter. Work must be your original creation and exhibition ready. Open to all forms of photographic image-making in any process or technology, current or historical. Submit 1-20 photographs. Entry fee is $15 for the first image and $10 for each subsequent image. Current RICPA Members receive a 20% discount on the entry fee. Maximum size 48" including the frame. Artists may have multiple pieces (diptych, triptych, etc.) to make up one work.

Exhibition runs October 20 - November 11, 2022 at the Rhode Island Center for Photographic Arts, 118 N. Main St., Providence, RI. Reception and Awards: October 20, 2022, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Delivery of accepted work due on or before October 15, 2022. Awards: First Place $150, Second Place $100, Third Place $50.
