About This Call
Uncommon Threads 2022 is a one-day fiber and jewelry show boutique held on October 16, 2022 (10 am – 4 pm) at Abbington Distinctive Banquets, 3S002 IL Rte. 53, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137. The event showcases fiber and jewelry artists from across the country and includes a boutique shopping experience, luncheon, and runway show.
Artists may choose between two participation options. Category A: Independent Artist Booth - Artists must submit six images (five showing work quality and type, one of booth space). Booths are 10'x10' (size may vary). An additional $40 booth fee is due August 31, 2022 for accepted artists. Artists must staff their booths and are responsible for inventory. There is no limit to the number or price of items sold. Category B: Fine Line Managed Booth - Artists may submit up to 30 functional accessory items (scarves, shawls, jewelry, purses, hats, etc.) priced below $250. Five images showing work quality and type are required. Artists do not need to be present; Fine Line volunteers staff the booth. All items must be original concept and executed by the artist; no copies or kits are eligible.
All applicants must submit a brief artist statement and pay a $25 non-refundable jury fee. All work must be for sale. Fine Line retains a 35% commission on all pieces sold. Work submitted to the Fine Line Managed Booth will be insured while in Fine Line's possession; artists are responsible for insuring work in transit. Notification of accepted artists occurs mid-June. For the Fine Line Managed Booth, items are due October 5. Unsold hand-delivered items may be picked up by October 20 at 5 pm. This event is open to artists 18 years or older who reside and work in the United States.
