About This Call
Uncommon Threads 2020 is an art-to-wear event held at the Q Center, 1405 North 5th Avenue, St. Charles, Illinois. The event is open to all fiber and jewelry artists who reside in the United States. Artists may select from four participation categories: Runway Artist, Runway Artist and Independent Artist Booth, Independent Artist Booth, or Fine Line Managed Booth.
Runway artists may exhibit 3 to 5 women's and/or men's garments/ensembles and are eligible for awards including Best of Show ($250), Jurors' Choice Award ($200), and People's Choice Award ($100). Independent Artist Booths are 10'x10' spaces with a $40 booth fee; artists must staff their booths. The Fine Line Managed Booth accepts up to 30 functional accessories priced below $250; artists do not need to be present. All work must be original concept, executed by the artist, and for sale. Fine Line retains a 35% commission on all pieces sold. The jury fee of $25 is waived for this year. Work must be received by September 23, 2020 (runway and garments) or September 30, 2020 (Fine Line Managed Booth). Hand-delivered items may be picked up by 5 p.m. on October 22, 2020. Work sent for the runway, Fine Line Managed Booth, and extra garment area will be insured while in Fine Line's possession; artists are responsible for insuring work in transit and return shipping charges.
