Uncanny

The Indiana University Kokomo Art Gallery presents the juried exhibition "Uncanny." When something has an unordinary or eerie quality, it may be referred to as "uncanny." Something that evokes a strange and unexplainable aura makes the viewers question reality. The gallery invites artists to submit artwork that represents an unnatural or otherworldly essence. The exhibition will be on display from June 4–25, 2025.

This juried exhibition is open to all artists over the age of 18 who reside in the United States. All work must be original and completed in the last two years. Video, 2D, and 3D work are accepted. A $25 entry fee is required; artists will receive an invoice via email approximately 3-5 business days after entry submission. Entry fee payment must be completed before the entry becomes visible to the juror. Work samples may include up to 3 images, 3 audio files, and 3 video files (minimum 1 total sample required). All image files must be in JPEG format and may not exceed 5MB. Professional presentation is required: 2D works must be ready to hang with secure hanging wire; 3D works must be ready to display on a standard pedestal. For artworks over 5 feet or 100 lbs., contact the gallery prior to entry submission.

Deadline for entries is April 2, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Notifications will be sent April 22, 2025. Artwork delivery is the artist's responsibility and may be dropped off during gallery hours (Monday–Thursday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.) or shipped to the gallery with prepaid return shipping. Artwork pick-up is June 30–July 3, 2025 during gallery hours or by appointment. A closing reception will be held June 25, 2025 from 4–6 p.m. Any work not picked up 30 days after the show ends becomes the property of Indiana University Kokomo Art Gallery.
