About This Call
The UNC Annual Juried Student Show is open to University of Northern Colorado undergraduate and graduate students. Undergraduate students must be currently enrolled in at least 6 credit hours of UNC classes, including a 3-credit School of Art & Design class taken during the 2013-2014 academic year, and must have passed their Foundations Portfolio Review. Graduate and post-baccalaureate students must be currently enrolled in a UNC art class with no minimum credit requirement.
Artists may submit up to 4 works for a non-refundable entry fee of $15. All work must have been created within the last year. Each entry must be submitted in one of 12 categories: computer graphics, graphic design, photo imaging, mixed media, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, drawing, fibers, jewelry, painting, or graduate/post-baccalaureate. Work samples should include 1-4 images and up to 1 video. At submission, provide the title, date, size (H x W x D), medium category, price or "Not For Sale" designation, and insurance value.
Accepted artwork must be delivered to the Mariani Gallery in Guggenheim Hall on Tuesday, March 26 from 9 am–5 pm and must remain in the gallery through the end of the exhibition. Two-dimensional works must be appropriately framed and wired for hanging (no saw tooth hangers or clips). Three-dimensional works must be stable and ready for public display. The exhibition runs April 3–May 3, 2014, with a closing reception and awards announcement on April 30 from 4–7 pm. The juror is Andra Archer of Archer Concept Group, Denver. Twelve works will receive Best in Category awards (one from each category), and one work will be selected for Best in Show. Dean's Purchase Award and School of Art & Design Purchase Award will also be selected from works marked for sale.
