About This Call

MNWCA invites its members to submit work for Unapologetic: Women's Ceramics in the Land of Mingei-Sota, a juried exhibition of Minnesota Women Ceramic Artists. Jurors are Susan Beiner and Victoria Christen. This is a juried exhibition featuring utilitarian, sculptural and installation works by MNWCA members living in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Work must weigh under 50 pounds and should not exceed 3 feet in height or 8 feet in length. This will be MNWCA's tenth exhibition since the organization's founding in 2009.

The exhibition will be held in the Third Floor Gallery at the Northrup King Building, 1500 Jackson Street NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413. Submission deadline is February 1, 2019. Artists may submit up to 3 works for consideration with up to 6 images total (up to 2 images per work). For each work, submit title, dimensions, medium/process, year of completion, and optional notes. An artist statement is required. You must be a current MNWCA member to participate; membership dues must be paid before the end of the call date. Exhibition dates are March 7 – April 5, 2019. Notice of accepted work will be sent February 13, 2019. Work is due at the gallery February 25 - March 1, 2019. A private, member, and guest opening reception is scheduled for Thursday, March 7, 2019 from 5 – 9 pm, and a public reception during NCECA is Friday, March 29, 2019 from 5 – 9 pm. Artists are responsible for all shipping fees and insurance of artwork during exhibition. Work must be ready to install with hardware and directions if needed.
