TVAA Annual High School Juried Art Exhibition

The Winston School's TVAA art competition is open to all high school students in the state of Texas. Around 50-75 works will be selected from more than an anticipated 500 submissions. The exhibition showcases the vast range of young talent in Texas across all imaginable media. The competition is juried by artist Sam Lao, with awards for first, second, and third place winners.

Artists must submit one JPEG image of their work along with a brief artist statement and description. The submission fee is $5 per entry. All art must be original, completed in 2021 or 2022, and not previously shown in prior TVAA competitions. Accepted forms include painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, sculpture, ceramics, digital media, jewelry, watercolor, printmaking, work on paper, work on canvas, and collage (videos and films not accepted). All 2D work must not exceed 36in x 36in. All 3D work should be no larger than 24in around the entire object/surface. No glass is permitted; plexi must be used if framing. All work must be ready to hang using wire and d-rings. One entry per student.

Submissions open November 19, 2021, with a deadline of January 14, 2022. Accepted entries will be notified January 28, 2022. Artwork delivery is February 25, 2022. The artist reception and artwork pick-up day are both March 24, 2022. All work will need to be hand delivered and picked up in person, though in some cases mailed-in accepted entries may be permitted.
