About This Call
Hera Gallery and Educational Foundation seeks work in all media—2D, 3D, and video—that addresses current turmoil and visions of the future. The exhibition explores how worldwide turmoil including the pandemic, racism, climate change, and political division might lead to transformation. Artists are invited to consider the emotional, physical, and spiritual effects of current events and how they might manifest into transformation. What does our world look like post-2020? Will transformation reflect the multiplicity of voices of America? How will our future be transformed by current chaos?
The juror is Francine Weiss, Senior Curator at the Newport Art Museum in Rhode Island. Entry fee is $35. Work sample requirements: up to 3 images, up to 3 audio files, and up to 3 video files (minimum 1 total sample required). 3D work is limited to 100 lbs and must fit through a 5'10" x 6'8" door. 2D work must also fit through the same door. Artists will be notified of acceptance by April 1, 2021. Exhibition dates are May 15–June 19, 2021. Artwork must be delivered to the gallery by Saturday, May 8, 2021. Artists are responsible for all return shipping costs and must include a prepaid return shipping label. Hera Gallery retains a 35% sales commission. Artists are responsible for their own insurance. Hera Gallery reserves the right to photograph work for publicity and use artist names, likenesses, and artwork in exhibition materials.
