Tubac Center of the Arts Tucson Skies Photography Exhibit

Tucson Skies is a national, juried photography exhibition illustrating the skies over Tucson. In collaboration with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, selected digital images will be displayed at the Tubac Center of the Arts and subsequently shown at the Tucson Symphony Orchestra during a live multimedia symphonic performance of composer Anthony Constantino's world premiere composition. Photographs should illustrate Tucson skies at day, dusk, and/or night. The exhibition will be on display from December 15, 2017 to January 14, 2018, with an opening reception on December 15 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Selected images will be featured in the symphonic performance on February 16th and 18th.

Jurors are John P. Schaefer, Professor Emeritus of the University of Arizona and co-founder of the Center for Creative Photography, and Peter Ensenberger, former Director of Photography for Arizona Highways magazine. Prizes include: Best of Show ($300), Award of Excellence ($150), Award of Merit ($100), and The Composer's Award ($100). Between seven and nine pieces will be chosen for the symphonic concert.

Up to 3 works may be entered for consideration. Entry fee is $30 for the first image and $3 for each additional image. All artwork must arrive ready to professionally display or hang. If framed, work must be suitably matted (white, black or neutral colors preferred), simply framed and firmly wired with no sawtooth hangers. All work must be for sale; TCA retains a 40% commission. Artists are responsible for shipping to and from TCA and must provide a prepaid barcoded shipping label for return of artwork. Unsold work will be shipped back after the exhibition closes.
