Tubac Center of the Arts: Timeless Meditations - Mandalas & Patterns in Nature

This national juried exhibit invites artists in all media to submit art inspired by, representing, or including sacred geometry, mandalas, and patterns in nature. Recognition of patterns and shapes can profoundly affect how we see ourselves in relation to each other and the world in which we live, to embrace ideas that unite us, not divide us.

Artwork must be original, entirely the work of the artist, executed within the last 24 months, and cannot have been previously shown at TCA. Giclee reproductions printed on canvas are not permitted. All artwork must arrive ready to hang. If framed, work must be suitably matted (white, black or neutral colors preferred), simply framed and firmly wired. No accepted art may be removed from the exhibit prior to the close on Sunday, November 11, 2012, including sold art. Artists are responsible for shipping to and from TCA. Unsold work will be shipped back to the artist after the close of the exhibition; artists must provide a prepaid shipping label for return of artwork.

Up to four works may be entered for consideration, with no more than two works per artist selected. Entry fee is $35 ($25 for TCA Members), with an additional $5 per image up to 4 entries ($3 each for TCA Members). All work must be for sale; TCA retains a 40% commission. Awards include Best of Show ($250), Award of Excellence ($150), and Award of Merit ($100). Juror is Catherine Nash. Submissions open June 1, 2012. Notifications to artists will be sent the week of September 14, 2012. Shipped art is due October 1-8, 2012; hand-delivered art is due Monday, October 8, 2012. Opening reception is Friday, October 12, 2012, 5-7pm. Art must be picked up by Monday, November 12, 2012.
