About This Call
The Open Studio Tour is a three-day self-guided tour of artists' workplaces throughout the valley, featuring an exhibition and opening reception at TCA, advertising in local, Tucson, and Phoenix metro areas, and a free catalog with maps to participating artists' studios and sponsors.
Participation fee is $85 for TCA artist members and $100 for non-members. The fee includes tour participation, catalog listing, advertising and promotions, and participation in the OST Preview Exhibit with Opening Reception. A separate Poster Contest entry fee of $20 is available for up to 2 images per artist. The poster contest winner receives free entry fees for the following year's Open Studio Tour. All participation fees are non-refundable.
The Preview Exhibit runs March 15 - April 28, 2013, with the opening reception on Friday, March 16, 2013 from 5-7pm. The Open Studio Tour takes place Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, March 23-25, 2013 from 10am-4pm. All artwork must be original work created within the last 24 months that has not been previously shown at TCA. Artwork must arrive ready to hang and suitably matted or framed. Giclee reproductions printed on canvas are not permitted. All work must be for sale; TCA retains a 40% commission. A People's Choice Award of $100 will be given to the artist whose work receives the most votes during the exhibition. Artists are responsible for delivery and return shipping of artwork. For the poster contest, the winning artist must be present at the Preview Exhibit to sign posters and must provide the original art to TCA by January 14, 2013 for scanning.
