About This Call
Hi-Art is an annual art exhibit for high school art students in the Santa Cruz Valley, Arizona. Art students from high schools in Sahuarita, Rio Rico, and Nogales are invited to apply. The exhibit offers students an opportunity to learn how to professionally present their work, use online exhibit application software, share their work with the community, and sell their artwork.
Entry is free to participating high school students. Students may enter up to 2 works of art. All artwork must arrive ready to hang. If framed, work must be suitably matted (white, black, or neutral colors preferred), simply framed, and firmly wired. Artwork may be for sale, with 100% of sales paid to the student.
Awards include: Best of Show ($300), Sid Cedargreen Award ($200), Award of Excellence ($150), Best 3-Dimensional Art ($150), Award of Merit ($100), and the Tubac Cowboy Christmas Scholarship Fund ($1,000, available to graduating seniors only). Registration opens March 28, 2014. Art delivery is due April 30, 2014. The opening reception is May 2, 2014, 5-7pm. Unsold artwork pickup is May 17-20, 2014. Contact Tubac Center of the Arts at 520-398-2371 or [email protected] with questions.
