About This Call
Flight is an exhibit celebrating the beauty and spirit of birds and all things that take to the air. Southern Arizona is a mecca for bird watching, bees, balloons, and the myriad of things and ideas that take flight. Artists are urged to enter work which is innovative in concept and approach, whether representational or abstract. All mediums are accepted. Work must have been completed within the last 24 months. Work that has been previously displayed at TCA is not eligible. All work must be the original creation of the artist. Giclee reproductions printed on canvas are not permitted.
Entry fee is $35 ($30 with TCA Member discount), with an additional $5 per image for entries 2-4 ($3 each with TCA Member discount). Up to four works may be entered for consideration. All artwork must arrive ready to hang. If framed, work must be suitably matted in white, black or neutral colors, simply framed and firmly wired. No saw tooth hangers. All work must be for sale, and TCA will retain a 40% commission. Artists are responsible for shipping to and from TCA. Unsold work will be shipped back after the close of the exhibition on Sunday, February 26, 2017. No art may be removed from the exhibit prior to closing, including sold art.
Awards include: Best of Show $600, Juror's Award $400, Award of Excellence $250, Award of Merit $100, and Honorable Mention $75 (two awards). Juror: J. Rodney Reveal. Jury notifications will be sent the week of January 23, 2017. Shipped art is due Monday, February 27, 2017. Hand delivered art is due Friday, March 3, 2017. Opening reception is Friday, March 3, 2017, 5-7pm. Art must be picked up by Monday, April 10, 2017. For assistance, call 520-398-2371.
