Tubac Center of the Arts: Arte de Avian

"Arte de Avian" is an exhibit celebrating the beauty and spirit of birds and birding. Southern Arizona is a mecca for bird watching with some of the best birding places in the world, with confirmed sightings of more than 200 species of birds.

Artists are urged to enter work that is innovative in concept and approach, whether representational or abstract. All mediums are accepted. Work must have been completed within the last 24 months and cannot have been previously displayed at Tubac Center of the Arts. All work must be the original creation of the artist. Giclee reproductions are not permitted.

Entry fee is $36 ($32 with TCA Member discount). Up to four works may be entered; additional entry images are $5 each ($3 with member discount). Jurying will be done on the basis of digital images in JPG format only. All work must be for sale; TCA will retain a 40% commission. Awards include Best of Show ($600), Juror's Award ($400), Award of Excellence ($250), Award of Merit ($100), and two Honorable Mentions ($75 each). The juror is Ben Johnson. Jury process occurs January 30 - February 6, 2015, with notifications to artists the week of February 9, 2015. Shipped art is due by March 4-9, 2015; hand-delivered art is due Monday, March 9, 2015. The opening reception is Friday, March 13, 2015, 5-7pm. Art must be picked up by Monday, April 27, 2015. Artists are responsible for shipping to and from TCA and must provide a barcoded preprinted prepaid shipping label for return of artwork.
