Tubac Center of the Arts: Arizona Aqueous XXXI

Arizona Aqueous XXXI is a national juried exhibition of water-based pigments on paper. Eligible work includes paper constructions, paper sculpture, paper collage, cut paper, mobiles, two or three dimensional wall pieces, and installations. Water-based pigments must constitute the major portion of the work. Artists are urged to enter innovative work, whether representational or abstract. Work must have been completed within the last 24 months and cannot have been previously displayed at Tubac Center of the Arts. All work must be the original creation of the artist.

Juror Monica Warhol is an artist and innovator working across painting, printmaking, sculpture, installation, design, music, fashion, and theater. Her work has been shown throughout the United States and abroad.

Entry fee is $35 ($30 with TCA Member discount), with an additional $5 per image for up to four total work samples ($3 each with member discount). Up to four works may be entered for consideration in jpg format only. All artwork must arrive ready to hang, suitably matted in white, black, or neutral colors, simply framed, and firmly wired with no saw tooth hangers. All work must be for sale, and TCA will retain a 40% commission. No art may be removed from the exhibit prior to the close on February 27, 2017, including sold work. Artists are responsible for shipping to and from TCA and must provide a barcoded prepaid shipping label for return of artwork.

Awards: Best of Show $1,000, Juror's Award $500, Award of Excellence $250, Award of Merit $100, Honorable Mention $75 (two awards). Exhibition dates: January 20 - February 27, 2017. Opening reception is Friday, January 20, 2017, 5-7pm. Juror Monica Warhol will conduct a workshop on Saturday, January 21, 2017.
