Tubac Center of the Arts: Arizona Aqueous XXIX

Arizona Aqueous XXIX is a nationally juried exhibition of water media on paper. Water-based pigments on paper must constitute the major portion of the work. Eligible entries include paper constructions, paper sculpture, paper collage, cut paper, mobiles, two or three-dimensional wall pieces, and installations. Work must be innovative in concept and approach, whether representational or abstract, and must have been completed within the last 24 months. Work previously displayed at TCA is not eligible. All work must be the original creation of the artist. Giclee reproductions are not permitted.

Awards include: Best of Show ($1,000), Juror's Award ($500), Award of Excellence ($250), Award of Merit ($100), and Honorable Mention ($75). The exhibition runs January 23 - March 8, 2015. All work must be for sale, with TCA retaining a 40% commission. No art may be removed from the exhibit prior to the close of the exhibition, including sold work. Artwork must arrive ready to hang; if framed, work must be suitably matted in white, black, or neutral colors, simply framed, and firmly wired. Artists are responsible for shipping to and from TCA. Unsold work will be shipped back after the exhibition closes. Artists must provide a prepaid barcoded shipping label for return of artwork.

Entry fee is $36 ($32 for TCA members), with an additional $5 per image up to 4 entries ($3 for members). Up to four works may be entered for consideration as digital images in jpg format only. Jury process occurs December 4-10, 2014, with artist notifications the week of December 15, 2014. Shipped art is due by January 19, 2015; hand-delivered art is due by January 23, 2015. The opening reception is Friday, January 23, 5-7pm. Art must be picked up by Monday, March 9, 2015. The juror is Ron Pokrasso, an exhibiting artist and printmaker with over 35 years of experience.
