Truth Unveiled: Art as Reality, Illusion, and Insight

Truth Unveiled invites artists of all media from all regions of the world to submit works exploring how art can reveal truth in ways that straight facts cannot. The exhibition seeks work that engages viewers beyond the literal, encouraging reflection on the nature of reality, illusion, authenticity, and perception. Artists' work chosen for this exhibition will reflect on art as an inherently imaginative, subjective expression that opens minds, raises awareness, and provokes conversation about art as both a vehicle for and challenger of truth.

The exhibition runs October 18 - December 6, 2025, at Art League RI Gallery and Tiernan Hallway Gallery, 80 Fountain Street, Suite 107A, Pawtucket, RI 02860. Opening reception is Saturday, October 18, 2025, 5:00-7:00 pm, with closing reception on Saturday, December 6, 2025, 5:00-7:00 pm. Jurors are Conor Moynihan, Interim Department Head and Associate Curator of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs at the RISD Museum, and Christina Alderman, Director of Family and Teen Programs at the RISD Museum.

Entry deadline is August 24, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Entry fee is $35 for the first piece and $10 for each additional piece (up to 5 total). Submit 1-5 images and up to 1 video. Artists must provide a 100-word bio, 200-word artist statement, and 150-word response describing how their work engages with the exhibition's themes. Notification of acceptance will be on or before September 15, 2025. Awards include First Place ($500), Second Place ($300), Third Place ($150), and two Honorable Mentions. All works must be for sale unless approved otherwise. Art League RI takes a 30% commission from members and 40% from non-members. Maximum artwork size is 60" wide by 60" high including frame. 3D work must have an overall footprint of 60" x 60" or less with a weight limit of 100 lbs. In-person drop-off is September 16-26, 2025, by appointment. Shipped artwork must be received by September 26, 2025. Artists must include a pre-paid return shipping label. Installation dates are October 6-18, 2025. Pick-up dates are December 7-14 in-person or by mail by December 14, 2025. Any artist 18 years or older may participate.
