TRUE BLUE

TRUE BLUE is an online exhibition with the theme of the color blue and its many meanings and representations. Artists are invited to submit work interpreting "TRUE BLUE" through their perspective. The color blue can represent trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, and sensitivity, but also fragility, depression, impersonality, and coldness. Historically, blue pigment was the rarest and most precious shade, with some artists going into debt to use it.

JPEGs are due by December 3, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Notification of acceptance and online gallery opening will be Friday, December 31, 2021. All accepted pieces will be displayed in the online gallery at www.art-fluent.com. Awards include Best of Show ($750) and two Director's Choice awards ($250 each). The exhibition is curated and juried by Creative Director Amy Matteson Neill along with an anonymous committee of jurors. No personal feedback is given by jurors.

Entry fee is $25 for the first entry and $10 for each additional entry, up to 20 total entries. For 3D work, there is no need to pay for additional entries for detail shots; additional views can be sent by email to [email protected]. Payment is non-refundable and does not guarantee acceptance. All images must be in JPEG format, 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side, with a maximum file size of 5 MB. This call is open to artists worldwide, both amateur and professional. Work that is copied or done under the guidance of an instructor is not eligible. All fine art mediums are accepted (oil, acrylic, watermedia, pastel, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, photography, sculpture, fiber, wood, digital art) except film/video. For artwork that is sold, artists receive 100% of the sale. Cash awards over $600 are subject to federal income tax withholding; winners must submit a W-9 form to Art Fluent, Inc.
