About This Call
Transforming: Street Objects from Your Street to Main Street is an international juried art exhibition held at Site:Brooklyn in Brooklyn, NY from November 24–December 22, 2015. The exhibition invites artists to submit images of found or created temporary outdoor sculptures made with objects on the streets of their own communities. Artists are asked to reimagine or transform everyday objects into something remarkable, documenting these creations through photography. Original objects must not be damaged or permanently altered in any way and must be left in original condition.
Artists should submit unframed, unmated black and white or color digital prints on paper sized A4 (8.5" x 11") or A3 (11" x 17"). Submissions must include 3–20 images with text descriptors for each image including title and location. The entry fee is $35 for up to three images, plus $5 for each additional image. The final submission deadline is October 22, 2015 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Notification of acceptance will be made via email by October 29, 2015, with a confirmation of participation required by November 4, 2015. Accepted work must be received by November 19, 2015.
The exhibition is juried by Kimberly Marrero, an independent art advisor and curator based in New York City and Museum Educator at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. The Brooklyn Prize of $1,000 will be awarded to an individual artist in the show. All prints will be offered for sale for $150 each, with Site:Brooklyn retaining a 40% commission on sales.
