About This Call
Transformative Forces: Creation through Destruction is Kahilu Theatre's 4th Annual Juried Show, exploring the dual forces of creation and destruction that shape our lives and the world around us. The exhibition will be held at Kahilu Theatre Galleries from March 14 – April 27, 2019.
Proposals are accepted through February 15, 2019 with a $35.00 submission fee per entry; up to five works per artist. Eligible works include 2D, 3D, and video works completed since January 1st, 2015 by artists currently residing in the State of Hawai'i. Work executed under classroom/educational guidance or external supervision is not eligible. Artwork must be ready for installation and professionally presented (2D must be framed or mounted with hanging hardware; 3D work must have clear installation instructions).
Awards: First Place $300, Second Place $200, Third Place $100. The juror is Carl F.K Pao. Notification of accepted works will be sent March 1, 2019, with artwork arrival at Kahilu Theatre by March 11, 2019. The opening reception is March 14, 5-7:00 pm. Artists are responsible for shipping costs both to and from the Gallery and must provide a prepaid return shipping label, UPS or FedEx account number, or credit card information for return shipping.
