Trajectory Print Portfolio Project

Phoenix Institute of Contemporary Art (phICA) is launching the Trajectory Print Portfolio Project to showcase the richness and diversity of art being made in Arizona. Twelve artists will be selected for inclusion in a portfolio of editioned prints. Previous printmaking experience is not required. Prints will be produced in partnership with Master Printer Brent Bond of Santo Press in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The portfolio will be published in an edition of 40, with a number of portfolios placed in museum and private collections to add to the reputation, visibility, and career trajectory of the included artists. Selected artists will receive either a portion of their own edition or a complete portfolio. Artists working in all media are eligible, not just experienced printmakers or artists working two-dimensionally.

Artists will be reviewed and selected by Marisa Flórido Cesar, a curator, art critic, author, and university professor based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Cesar will review applicants and select artists based on images of representative artworks submitted through the application. Participating artists will receive either an allotment of ten of their own prints from the edition of 40 or a single complete portfolio including one print from all participating artists. Only Maricopa County, Arizona artists are eligible. Applicants must submit a minimum of 6 and maximum of 10 images.
