About This Call
TRAHC's 32nd Annual Juried Exhibition is open to all artists 18 years and older. The exhibition accepts work in the following media: photography, printmaking, sculpture, aquamedia, oils, fiberarts, collage, intermedia, drawing, and digital. All work must be original in concept and not copied from another artist's work. No installations or artwork that requires special technical installation or assembly will be accepted. Entries are limited to a maximum of three works executed in the last two years (May 2018 - May 2020). A maximum of two pieces of artwork per artist can be juried into the exhibit. The entry fee is $30 for up to three entries, payable by credit card through Callforentry.org. All fees are non-refundable.
Judging occurs in two phases. The initial judging will take place from June 26 – July 16, 2020, during which the juror will select artwork to be accepted into the exhibit. Results will be emailed by July 17, 2020. After all accepted artwork has arrived, the juror will view the exhibit in person to select award-winning artwork. Winners will be announced at the opening reception on August 21, 2020. The exhibition runs from August 21 - October 3, 2020 at TRAHC, located at 321 4th Street, Texarkana, TX 75501.
Accepted artwork must be received by August 7, 2020 at 3:45 p.m. and may be shipped via FedEx or UPS with pre-paid return shipping labels, or hand-delivered by appointment with Amanda Langley at [email protected]. All works must be original, completed, and ready to hang. Frames, mats, and wiring must be professional quality. Two-dimensional works on paper must be framed and under Plexiglas (unless pastel, which may be under glass at the artist's own risk). All paintings must be framed or gallery wrapped with fully painted edges. Freestanding sculptures must have felt pads attached to the bottom. Artwork sold to the public will incur a 20% commission. Awards include: Yates Collection Purchase Award ($1000), Best of Show ($1000), First Place ($750), Second Place ($500), Third Place ($300), and Fourth Place ($200). The juror is Tammy Harrington, Professor of Art at the University of the Ozarks.
