Traffic Signal Box Wraps Round 2

The City of Coral Springs is seeking artists to design vinyl wraps for four traffic signal boxes located in the Downtown area. The goal is to reduce blight and transform utility boxes into public art pieces that enhance the visitor experience and prevent vandalism.

Four locations are available: 1 County Box at NW 101st Avenue & Sample Road, 2 FDOT Boxes at University Drive & Sample Road, and 1 FDOT Box at NW 31st Court & University Drive. Selected artists will receive $200 for each design per traffic box. Artwork should be colorful but not bright, bold and readable from cars while containing intimacy for pedestrians. Artworks related to environmental or historical aspects of Coral Springs are encouraged. No logos, words, political or religious references are permitted.

This call is open to all Florida professional and amateur artists. Experience in vinyl wraps or public art is not necessary. Artists skilled in any digital visual arts medium (2-D, painting, drawing, photography, graphic design, animation, etc.) are encouraged to apply. Designs must be unique and original. Artists can submit up to four images as JPG files with a maximum of 5MB each. If selected, artists must provide the final design with a minimum resolution of 360 DPI. Selected artists must grant the City one-time reproduction rights and may be required to place designs onto templates provided by the vendor/city for final approval. The submission deadline is October 6, 2019. Artist selection is expected in October/November 2019, with fabrication and installation to follow.
