Traditions

Pour-d is a contemporary gallery in Rockford, Michigan, housed in a historic building in the heart of the downtown area. The gallery invites artists to submit work to the 2023 juried Winter Show titled "Traditions." The exhibition will run from November 14, 2023 through January 19, 2024. Featured artists are invited and encouraged to attend the opening reception.

The call seeks work exploring traditions—the passing on of customs or beliefs from generation to generation. Heirloom pieces, memory-provoking art, and historically inspired works that bring people together and create joy are welcomed for consideration. All mediums and genres are considered, including painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, glass, fiber, functional work, digital art, photography, mixed media, and new genres. Artists may submit 1-4 images. The entry fee is $20 (non-refundable). Notifications are generally sent via email within 3 weeks of the call closing.

Accepted work must be original, unsold, and owned solely by the artist. All 2D artwork must be ready to hang with professional-quality frames, mats, and wiring in good condition. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping. The gallery retains a 30% commission on all exhibition sales. Payment to artists will be provided within 60 days after the exhibit concludes and receipt of full payment from the buyer. Artists may also provide prints of their work for sale, with the same 30% gallery commission applied.
