TPS31: The International Competition

TPS31: The International Competition is an open-themed photography exhibition juried by Charlotte Cotton, distinguished curator and Artistic Director of Tasweer Photo Festival Qatar. This call is open to artists of all levels internationally, including all photography-based work (digital, silver, and alternative processes). Artists must be at least 18 years old at time of entry. Works exhibited previously in a TPS show are not eligible. Current TPS Board members may enter but are not eligible for awards.

The exhibition will open at the Nancy Fyfe Cardozier Gallery, The University of Texas Permian Basin in Odessa, Texas on August 28, 2023, with an opening reception on Thursday, August 31st. The exhibition closes October 6, 2023. Exhibiting artists will be announced July 22, 2023. Accepted work must arrive in Odessa between August 14-18, 2023.

Entry fee is $30 for current TPS members or $38 for non-members, covering 5 images. Additional images cost $6 each. Submissions must include a minimum of 5 images and maximum of 12 images. Digital JPG files must be minimum 1200 pixels on the longest side and 5 MB maximum, with watermarks removed. Awards include First Place ($500), Second Place ($300), Third Place ($200), and up to 5 Honorable Mentions. Accepted work must be ready-to-hang with wire and D-rings, not exceeding 30 inches in the longest dimension including frame. White mats and white or black gallery-quality frames are required; plexiglass must be used (no glass). A prepaid return UPS or FedEx shipping label must be provided with work. TPS will collect a 30% commission from all prints sold during the exhibition.
