About This Call
The Town of Superior, Colorado Cultural Arts & Public Spaces Advisory Committee is creating a roster of pre-qualified artists and inviting Colorado resident artists and artist teams to submit qualifications. The roster will streamline the artist selection process for upcoming public art projects and may be used in combination with open or invitational selection processes or as the sole resource for identifying appropriate artists for public art projects.
Artists will be short-listed for projects in the following categories: Outdoor Mural, Sculpture, 2-D Framed or Canvas, Light-based, Sound-based, Fiber, Text-based, Ceramic/Mosaic, and Environmental Installations. Submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed quarterly. Applicants must be Colorado residents at least 18 years of age and may submit up to three applications (one per medium category).
Submission requirements include: a brief artist or artist team statement (maximum 2,000 characters), a resume with contact information (maximum 2 pages), a list describing work samples with dimensions, title, location/client, and project budget, and digital work samples (minimum 4 images required for all categories; up to 3 sound files or 3 videos may be submitted). The Cultural Arts & Public Spaces Advisory Committee will review submissions based on artist experience and qualifications, artistic merit and design quality, probability of successful completion, site compatibility, safety compliance, maintenance requirements, durability in Colorado weather, and other criteria deemed necessary. Contact Jennifer Garner at [email protected] with questions.
