About This Call
The Museum of Outdoor Arts (MOA) is seeking up to 4 artists, filmmakers, and animators to participate in Cricket Cinema, a mobile pop-up theatre that will tour to various arts and cultural events in Colorado. Selected artists will receive a $750 honorarium. The museum is looking for short animations and films (10 minutes or less) utilizing the theme of "Colorado Outdoors" to create a unique visitor experience. Films and animations will be played on a rotation basis and should be artistic in nature, potentially including wildlife, Colorado scenery, culture, and heritage.
The primary location for the installation is Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre and Marjorie Park in Greenwood Village, CO, which hosts major concerts throughout the summer and fall months with over 250,000 patrons each concert season. MOA owns Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre and has many art installations throughout the property. The Cricket Cinema installation was commissioned in 2018 and built by Yetiweurks, a local art, engineering, and fabrication studio.
Artists may submit up to 6 films or animations each, with each entry not exceeding 10 minutes in length and including audio. Video files must be in .MOV or .MP4 format, under 100MB, with a minimum resolution of 640 x 480 and minimum 12 fps. Submissions must include an artist statement (1000 words or less), CV, and artist biography (1000 words or less). Eligibility is limited to Colorado artists only. MOA staff and board will jury all submissions that meet requirements, with each film or animation considered individually. If selected, artists will be required to provide the highest resolution possible to MOA.
