Topeka Competition 33

Topeka Competition 33 is a juried exhibition of three-dimensional work held at the Alice C. Sabatini Gallery. The exhibition runs from November 10, 2017 through January 7, 2018. The juror is Emily Williams, a glass sculptor whose work explores complex plant and sea life forms inspired by the natural world.

Eligible artists must be 18 years of age or older and currently residing in the United States. Accepted media includes three-dimensional work in clay, metal, jewelry, fiber, leather, glass, sculpture, wood, books as art, or mixed media. No two-dimensional work will be accepted. Work must be no more than 3 years old (completed in 2014 or later) and cannot have been previously exhibited in the Alice C. Sabatini Gallery. The entry fee is $35 for up to three works. Up to 9 images of 3 works may be submitted, and artists must include a brief statement about their entries for educational and publicity purposes.

Accepted works will receive notification by email by August 30, 2017. The exhibition offers $1,000 in Juror's award prizes (cash awards sponsored by the Friends of the Library) and Purchase award prizes that become part of the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library's permanent art collection. Accepted works must remain in the exhibition until January 7, 2018. Artists are responsible for shipping costs and insurance to and from the gallery. Work must arrive between October 9 and October 23, 2017. Pieces over 150 lbs or exceeding 8' x 3' x 3' (HWD) dimensions require artist installation between October 27-November 3, 2017. Hand-delivered work must be picked up between January 10-14, 2018; shipped works will be returned beginning the week of January 8, 2018.
