About This Call
Topeka Competition 32 is a national juried competition for three-dimensional artwork. The exhibit theme is "History" – work submitted must express history in some form and include an artist statement about how the entry fits the theme.
Eligible artists are anyone 18 years of age or older currently residing in the United States. Eligible media includes three-dimensional work in clay, metalwork, jewelry, fiber, leather, glass, sculpture, wood, books as art, or mixed media. No two-dimensional work will be accepted. Work must be no more than 2 years old and cannot have been previously exhibited at the Alice C. Sabatini Gallery. Artworks will be judged on originality and technical excellence, connection to the theme, and the artist's perspective on the theme.
Entry fee is $35 (non-refundable) for up to three works. All entries must be submitted through callforentry.org by June 14, 2015. Artists will be notified of acceptance by email on August 12, 2015. Work must arrive by November 13, 2015. Any piece over 150 lbs or exceeding 8' x 3' x 3' (HWD) dimensions will be accepted only if the artist can install the work between November 20-25, 2015. The exhibition runs December 4, 2015 – January 31, 2016, with an opening reception on December 4, 2015. Juror's Awards and Purchase Awards will be announced at the opening reception.
