Together: An Exhibition Celebrating African American Quilts

The City of Pompano Beach invites artists nationwide to submit original quilts to commemorate the talent, resourcefulness, and ingenuity of African American quilters. Selected artworks will be exhibited at the Ali Cultural Arts Center from February 18 through May 12, 2022.

Entries must be original works completed within the last ten years and not exceed 60 inches in any dimension. Each quilt must be ready-to-hang with a four-inch hanging sleeve at the top edge. Submit up to three digital images via callforentry.org with a $10 submission fee. File names should follow the format: lastname_firstname_title.jpg. The deadline for submission is November 20, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. MST.

Accepted artists will receive notification via email and be given sufficient time to prepare their work and arrange shipping or delivery. Accepted quilts must be delivered in protective casing (such as a large Ziploc or pillowcase) without wire support, with the entrant's name permanently marked on the casing and attached to the back of the quilt. Artists will receive a 70% commission on artwork sold if they choose to make their quilt available for sale at the exhibition. By entering, you grant permission to the City of Pompano Beach to photograph your quilt for exhibition-related marketing and website use.
