Titusville Community Gateway Sculpture Design and Fabrication Project

The Oil Region Alliance (ORA) is accepting proposals for the Titusville Gateway Sculpture Project. The project contract period runs from approximately November 1, 2024 through May 30, 2025. This Gateway Sculpture will welcome visitors to the City of Titusville and Drake Well Museum and Park, interpreting the heritage of the Oil Region while highlighting outdoor recreation activities and celebrating the region's natural beauty through representation of flora and fauna. The sculpture will incorporate symbols of the Oil Region's past, such as derricks, barrels, and pipelines, and should be commanding and captivating, sparking wonder and excitement about exploring the Oil Region National Heritage Area.

The replacement gateway will be constructed of durable, long-lasting material requiring minimal maintenance and upkeep. The site is located on PA Route 8 at its intersection with Dutch Hill Road on property owned by the City of Titusville, Crawford County. The project budget is approximately $50,000. Proposals must be received by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024, and be valid for at least one year.

Proposals must include: three references from prior related projects; a preliminary statement (not exceeding one page) addressing interest in the project, proposed approach, and relevant experience; current CV or resume; portfolio of 5-10 digital images of past public art installations; personnel assigned to the project with resumes and relevant certifications; completed budget and bid forms; cost and price analysis; completed ORA Statement of Assurances and Insurance Information; and completed nondiscrimination/sexual harassment clause. This project is open to any professional artist with experience in designing and fabricating public sculpture. Sealed proposals should be mailed or hand-delivered to Abigail Watson-Popescu, Project Manager, ORA, 217 Elm St., Oil City, PA 16301-1412, with the envelope labeled "PROPOSAL FOR TITUSVILLE COMMUNITY GATEWAY SCULPTURE DESIGN AND FABRICATION PROJECT."
