About This Call
Tiny But Mighty II is a national juried exhibition of small three-dimensional artworks from across the United States. Works must not exceed 8 inches in their longest dimension and should be three-dimensional in at least 50% of their form and structure. Original works in all media, traditional or non-traditional, are welcomed, including both freestanding and wall-mounted pieces. The exhibition is open to all artists 18 or older residing in the United States. All work must be original, created without the aid of an instructor or kit, and produced within the last five years.
The exhibition will be held at the d'Art Center in Norfolk's NEON district from August 6-29, 2020, with a reception on August 6 from 5:30-7:30pm. This is a juried exhibition co-curated by gallery manager Amanda Bradley and juror Betsy DiJulio. Artists may submit up to 3 artworks for consideration with an entry fee of $35.00 (one image per submission). Awards include 1st Place: $500, 2nd Place: $300, and 3rd Place: $150. Notifications will be sent by email by July 20, 2020. Accepted works must arrive by August 1, 2020.
Works cannot exceed 40 pounds in weight. All 3D works requiring presentation other than standard pedestals must include those displays. Works requiring special installation must come with clear instructions, and complicated installations must be installed by the artist. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs to and from the gallery. Accepted works must be shipped with pre-paid return labels through UPS or FedEx only. Works should be shipped in reusable containers without packing peanuts. Works not picked up within one month of the exhibition's end become property of the d'Art Center. Sales commission is 60% artist/40% d'Art Center, not including awards.
