About This Call
Timisms is a group exhibition exploring artists' personal relationships with time. The theme invites artists to examine time as muse, mirror, and measure—whether as nostalgia, growth, decay, transformation, or something entirely personal. Artists are invited to explore their own Timisms: personal philosophies, obsessions, and experiences shaped by time. Work may address being haunted by time's passing, comforted by its rhythm, fear of change, or welcome of its inevitable pull forward.
Submissions must be original art in all traditional and mixed media formats, including painting, sculpture, printmaking, textiles, installation, and more. The exhibition does not accept collage, 3D-printed works, AI-generated art, or computer graphics. All work must be for sale and reasonably priced. 2D work must have proper weight picture wire and d-rings for hanging; paintings on canvas do not need frames but edges should be clean; works on paper are generally framed. Three-dimensional work may require artists to provide their own white, clean pedestal. Work must be neatly and professionally presented and match the photograph submitted with the application.
Eligibility is limited to local artists in Southern California only. Artists must be able to drop off and pick up artwork. The entry fee is $15.00. Submissions require 1-3 images. The submission deadline is July 3, 2025. The exhibition runs July 25-27, 2025, with an artist reception scheduled for July 26, 2025.
