About This Call
TimeShare: A Night of Screenings is the pinnacle evening of TimeShare, a multifaceted exhibition celebrating the dynamic intersection of art and technology. Existing as a concurrently held series of exhibitions across the City of Lakewood's five galleries, TimeShare features innovative work in experimental, new, digital, or time-based mediums, including video, 3D and animated shorts, web series, soundscapes, digitally enhanced performances, mobile media, apps, and experimental photography. The exhibition brings together artists and cultural producers grappling with the collision of technology and art with a sense of wonder and curiosity.
Up to 15 juried artists will present their work (less than 15 minutes each) in the Lakewood Cultural Center's 320-seat theater and participate in a panel dialogue about the screenings as facilitated by the New Genre Collective. Each artist chosen for the screening will receive $200.00 for their participation. The Night of Screenings schedule will be announced May 8, in advance of the event.
TimeShare accepts submissions from anywhere in the world. Submissions should showcase work built primarily through digital means and techniques. Works must be at least 2 minutes in length and under 15 minutes total. All submissions must have been completed no earlier than 2010. Works must be submitted as digital files in .mov or .mp4 format at the highest quality resolution available; Vimeo or YouTube links are also accepted for review purposes. Artists may submit up to 5 works for consideration. All submissions should be suitable for display in a public context for audience members of all ages. Artists selected for the screening will be notified via email upon acceptance.
