Times 2

Michigan artists 18 and over are invited to submit original works of art for the juried exhibition Times 2, held at Crooked Tree Arts Center in Traverse City. This exhibition features art created primarily with recycled, upcycled, and found object materials. Examples include paintings on old fridge doors, sculptures made from garage sale items, or photographs developed on discarded plastic bags. The exhibit will highlight how artists can transform discarded materials into extraordinary works of art.

Eligibility and Requirements: Both 2D and 3D works are accepted. All work must arrive assembled and stable for safety. 3D wall-hanging works should not exceed 40 inches in any dimension or weigh more than 50 pounds; 3D freestanding works should not exceed 8 feet in height and 4 feet in width. Diptychs and triptychs are allowed but submitted and priced as one piece. Works must have been created and completed within the last three years. Artists may submit up to five entries at $20.00 per artist ($15.00 for CTAC members, free for Guild members). Submissions are open July 19 - August 18, 2024, with notification on August 21, 2024. The exhibition will be on display in Carnegie Gallery from September 13 through October 26, 2024.

Delivery and Sales: Artists are responsible for transporting work to Crooked Tree Arts Center between August 24, 26-30, and September 3-4, 2024, during posted gallery hours. Shipped work must include a return shipping label. Crooked Tree Arts Center is a sales gallery with a 40% commission on all sales; works do not have to be for sale. Unsold artwork must be picked up between October 28-November 2, 2024, or by appointment. Works delivered with return shipping arrangements will be returned within 2 weeks of the exhibit's end.
