Time Capsule - PCNW's 24th Annual Juried Exhibition

Photographic Center Northwest (PCNW) invites artists to submit still and moving images to Time Capsule, PCNW's 24th annual juried exhibition. The call seeks work that reflects the current time and demonstrates how artists have utilized photography or film to navigate this period. Work does not have to be made in direct response to current events but should have a connection to the artist's experience of this time.

Works will be selected by juror Shamim M. Momin, Director of Curatorial Affairs at the Henry Art Gallery. Selected works will be exhibited at the PCNW Gallery in Seattle, WA from June 24 - August 12, 2021. Prizes include 1st prize $750, 2nd prize $250, and a People's Choice Award featuring camera gear, PCNW membership, and more. Entry fee is $50 for 5 image or video files (minimum); additional files may be submitted for $5 each, up to 10 total maximum. Financial hardship discounts of 50% off entry fees are available by contacting [email protected]. BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and emerging artists are encouraged to apply; all levels of experience and backgrounds are welcome.

Accepted artists will be notified by email in mid-May. Framed work must arrive at PCNW in Seattle by Monday, June 15th, 2021. Artists are responsible for shipping work to and from the gallery. PCNW will retain a 10% commission on all work sold during the exhibition, with artists able to determine whether they wish to sell their work. PCNW gives 90% of sales proceeds to artists, a 40% increase from their normal 50/50 gallery commission policy.
