Thumb Area Artists Exhibition

The Thumb Area Artists Exhibition is a regional juried exhibition held at Starkweather Arts Center in Romeo, Michigan. The exhibition runs September 1-23, 2022, with an opening reception on September 9 from 6-9 PM.

Eligibility: Artists must be 18 years or older and reside in one of the following counties: Genesee, Huron, Lapeer, Macomb, Oakland, Sanilac, St. Clair, Tuscola, or Wayne. Maximum 2 entries per artist. Original work completed within the last two years and not previously exhibited in the Thumb Area Artists Exhibition is eligible. Acceptable media include oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, drawing, graphics, and sculpture (wood, metal, etc.). Fibers, photography, and computer-generated art are not acceptable. Class work and reproductions of copyrighted works will not be accepted.

Entry Requirements: Submit 1-2 images online via CallForEntry.com. Entry fee is $40 for non-RGA members or $30 for RGA members in good standing. All entries must be for sale and priced. A 30% commission will be taken by Starkweather Arts Center on all artwork sales. Sold work must remain in place until the show's end. Wall pieces must be framed for hanging with wire only (no sawtooth hooks). Artwork may not exceed 40" in height, width, or depth and must be able to be handled by one person. No wet paintings. Accepted artwork must be delivered August 27, 10 AM-3:30 PM. Artists must pick up work on September 25, 10 AM-3:30 PM. Juror: Meighan Jackson, a mixed media artist represented by galleries in Manhattan, Cincinnati, Ferndale, and Petoskey.
