THROUGH THE SURFACE Juried Exhibition

6 Bridges Gallery invites artists to submit work for the fourth annual juried exhibition "Through the Surface." The theme explores how surfaces can tell their own story or mask what lies beneath. Artists may submit 3D and 2D works in all media except video.

Work Requirements: 2D art must be wired and ready to hang (no sawtooth hangers). Small pedestals will be provided for 3D pieces; artists must provide any other special equipment needed. Maximum size is 40" in any direction including frame. Work must be recent (within 5 years) and all work must be for sale. The gallery retains 40% commission on sold work. Entry fees are $15 for one image, $25 for two images, or $35 for three images. Submit 1-3 images.

Timeline and Awards: Entry deadline is May 1, 2019. Notification of acceptance will be sent June 1. Work must be delivered by the artist or representative to 6 Bridges Gallery, 77 Main St., Maynard, MA 01754 on June 29 (10 am–6 pm) or June 30 (Noon–4 pm). The exhibition runs July 9–August 17, with a reception on July 13 (7–9 pm). Work must be picked up by August 18 (10 am–4 pm). The gallery does not accept shipped work or provide storage or shipping services. Awards include the 6 Bridges Gallery Award, which includes an opportunity for a solo show in early 2020 (requiring a cohesive body of about 20 works), and a People's Choice Award. Entries will be juried by a 6 Bridges Gallery committee of artists in various media.
