Through My Lens - Cortland National Photography Exhibit 2015

The Cultural Council of Cortland County will host its second National Juried Photography Exhibition "Through My Lens" from August 14 through September 25, 2015, at the Main Street SUNY Cortland Beard Gallery, 9 Main Street, Cortland. The gallery is a modern, first-floor handicap accessible space. Entry fee is $35 for non-members and $28 for CCCC members, with a maximum of two entries per person.

Approximately 50 photographs will be selected by jurors for the exhibition from submitted jpeg images. A Juror of Awards will select award-winning photographs after the exhibit is hung and will deliver a talk at a reception on September 4, 2015, coinciding with Cortland First Fridays. Total awards of $1,300 will be distributed: $500 First Place, $300 Second Place, $200 Third Place, and three Honorable Mentions of $100 each.

The exhibit is open to all photographers, amateur and professional. Entries must be original, photographically derived, and created within the past three years. Work previously exhibited in a Cultural Council of Cortland County exhibit is ineligible. All work must be professional-quality framed with wire and ready for installation (no sawtooth or clip hangers). Shipped work must contain plexiglass glazing. Print size must be minimum 320 square inches framed and maximum 2400 square inches framed. All work must be for sale with a 30% commission collected by the Cultural Council. Work designated as not for sale will not be considered for awards. Acceptance notifications will be emailed by July 13, 2015. Shipped artwork must be received by August 10, 2015. Hand-delivered work may be dropped off August 10-11, 2015. Hand-delivered work will be picked up September 28, 2015. Shipped work will be repacked and returned via UPS at owner's expense by October 9, 2015.
