Through My Eyes

Through My Eyes is a national art competition open to all adult artists residing in the United States. Artists must be 18 or older, and artwork should have been completed in the last two years. The entry fee is $25 and allows up to 3 submissions. Artists may submit between 1 and 3 images of two-dimensional work on paper or canvas in digital, printmaking, oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, pen/ink, or charcoal. Nudes or lewd interpretations will not be accepted.

The juror is Richard E. Gallego of Palmdale, California, who studied at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and regularly teaches and conducts workshops throughout the US. Awards include $500 for Best in Show, $300 for 1st place, and $100 for 2nd place. The exhibition runs from July 10 to September 22, 2018, with an awards reception on July 22 from 2:00 to 4:30 PM.

Accepted artwork must be suitable for gallery presentation with a wired back and packaged for shipping. Paper works must be framed. Works must be received by July 1 and shipped to ALA Gallery by the Lake, 106 W. Pryce Street, Lake Charles, LA 70601. All accepted works must include prepaid return shipping labels. A 20% gallery commission will be assessed on artwork sales. The gallery carries no insurance for loss or damage to artwork and assumes no liability; artists should consider providing their own insurance coverage.
