About This Call
Metchosin ArtPod is an artist-run collective and gallery located in the rural village of Metchosin, on Greater Victoria's West Shore. The organization supports local visual artists by offering opportunities to learn, create, show, and sell original work, and promotes community engagement with the arts through gallery exhibitions and public programming.
Metchosin ArtPod organizes six open-call, juried art shows per year, representing artists from the Lower Island and beyond. The organization also coordinates art sales, runs weekly drop-in art groups, and offers workshops and art events to the community. Exhibition books are created for online sale and sent as permanent records to the Library and Archives of Canada.
Awards are given at each exhibition: a People's Choice Award determined by public voting during the show, and Juror's Choice Awards designated by the guest juror and presented at the Exhibition Opening Celebration on the first Saturday afternoon of the show. For submission questions or ArtPod-specific inquiries, contact [email protected]. Visit https://metchosinartpod.ca/ for upcoming art calls, shows, workshops, and events, and subscribe to the monthly newsletter for regular updates.
