Thick - Juried Competition and Group Exhibition

"Thick" is a group exhibition and juried competition revolving around the theme of "thick." This open-theme show is open to all mediums and interpretations, including the interpretation of tangible texture in abstract painting.

The competition takes place at ShockBoxx Gallery in Hermosa Beach, California in March 2021. Top artist submissions will win cash prizes and award certificates, as well as featured wall space in the exhibition. Artworks will be judged based on creativity, originality, quality of work, composition, and overall artistic ability. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three pieces selected by the jury: Christina Elizabeth Smith, Scott Meskill, Aimee Mandala, Kymm Swank, and MUKA. The competition will be featured on Artsy.

Entry fee is $25 for a single entry of one image, or up to eight images at $5 per additional image. Video and audio uploads are also available. Work samples may include 1-8 images, 0-5 audio files, and 0-5 video files. Competition winners will be announced mid-February via email. If selected for the gallery exhibition, details for sending/delivering work to the gallery will be provided via email.
