About This Call
The Winter Show is a juried all-media exhibition hosted by Palos Verdes Art Center, open only to current members in good standing. The exhibition runs December 4, 2021 through January 8, 2022.
Juror: Scarlet Cheng, an arts writer and college adjunct professor who is a regular contributor to The Los Angeles Times, The Art Newspaper, and Artillery art magazine, and has been published in ARTnews, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and Vogue. She teaches art and film history at Art Center College of Design and Otis College of Art & Design.
Submission Requirements: Artists may submit up to 3 pieces of original artwork produced within the last three years. Work must not have been previously exhibited at PVAC. Submit 1-3 JPEG images (1,200 pixels or greater on longest side, under 5 MB, RGB color profile) via CaFÉ. Entry fee is $35 for up to 3 pieces. All media is eligible.
Timeline: Online submissions October 7-30 (no extension). Juror selections announced November 8. Selected works must be hand-delivered November 19, 9:00-11:00 am. Opening reception December 4, 6:00-9:00 pm. Pick-up January 10, 9:00-11:00 am.
Size and Framing: 2-Dimensional work maximum 50 x 60 inches including framing, not to exceed 30 pounds. 3-Dimensional work maximum 72 x 36 x 36 inches, not to exceed 150 pounds. All 2-Dimensional work must be ready to hang. Frames must be in good condition. PVAC reserves the right to refuse artwork that does not meet requirements.
PVAC takes a 25% commission on all sales. Insurance coverage applies only during exhibition duration. PVAC carries no earthquake insurance. Contact Scott Andrews at [email protected] with questions.
