The Tropic Of Color

Vestige Concept Gallery presents "The Tropic Of Color," an exhibition seeking to showcase artworks representative of island culture from any style, featuring scenes of islands, beaches, coves, hidden bays, tropical sunsets, oceans, and/or pleasures/treasures. Artwork could also include colors, patterns, abstract work, chillwave/retrowave, ocean life, flora/fauna, and/or summer storms on the horizon. Afro-Caribbean, Polynesian, and Latinx artists are strongly encouraged to apply. The gallery accepts works from emerging, mid-career, and professional artists. Work must relate to the theme of the show.

The exhibition is open to artists over age 18 in the United States and Canada. Work should ideally have been created in the last three years and must be original artwork ready to display. The specific work must not have been previously displayed in a Vestige Concept Gallery exhibit. Work must be for sale with no "NFS" or deliberate overpricing. No giclees or reproductions of original works will be accepted unless the work itself is a giclee. Applicants may submit up to eight entries; two entries are included in the $25 application fee, with an additional $5 per entry for submissions over two.

Accepted artists must reply with email confirmation and provide an artist photo, short bio, and web/social links for promotion. Vestige Concept Gallery retains a 25% commission on sold artwork. Artists are responsible for shipping to and from the gallery with prepaid return labels (FedEx or UPS only). 2D work must not exceed 30 pounds including frame. Wall pieces must be securely wired, framed, and properly prepared for display. Shipped work must arrive by August 5, 2021. The in-person opening reception is Saturday, August 7, 2021, at 6 PM with live performance or DJ. The exhibition runs August 7-30, 2021. Artists will be notified of acceptance by July 25, 2021.
