The Summer Show 2023

The Summer Show is a juried all-media exhibition hosted by the Palos Verdes Art Center, open for submission only to current members in good standing of one of the center's seven active artists groups: Artists Open Group, Pacific Arts Group, Paletteers, Peninsula Artists, Photographic and Digital Artists, The Artists Studio, and Third Dimension. The exhibition runs July 22 – August 19, 2023, with an opening reception on Saturday, July 22 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Juror Dennis Keeley, a photographer, artist, and educator with works in the permanent collections at LACMA, MOCA, and the J. Paul Getty Center Trust, will select the works for exhibition.

Submissions are accepted online via CaFÉ from June 7 – June 25, 2023. Artists may submit up to 3 pieces for a total entry fee of $35. Work samples must be submitted as JPEG or JPG files with dimensions of 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side. All artwork must be original to the artist. Two-dimensional artwork has a maximum size of 50 x 60 inches including framing and must not exceed 30 pounds. Three-dimensional artwork has a maximum size of 72 x 36 x 36 inches and must not exceed 150 pounds. Juror selections will be announced by June 30. Selected artwork must be hand-delivered to the Palos Verdes Art Center Main Gallery on Friday, July 14 between 9:00 and 11:00 am. Artwork must remain in the exhibition until Monday, August 21. PVAC will take a 25% commission on all sales of exhibited artwork. Insurance coverage applies only to the duration of the exhibition; PVAC carries no earthquake insurance.
