The Summer Show 2021

The Summer Show is a juried all-media exhibition hosted by the Palos Verdes Art Center, open for submission only to current members in good standing of one of the center's eight active artists groups: Artists Open Group, Pacific Arts Group, Paletteers, Palos Verdes Painters, Peninsula Artists, Photographic and Digital Artists, The Artists Studio, and Third Dimension.

Online submissions via CaFÉ are accepted from May 25 through June 24. Artists may submit up to 3 pieces for a total entry fee of $35. Work samples must be submitted as JPEG or JPG files with dimensions of 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side. All artwork must be original to the artist, and previously exhibited work at PVAC is not eligible. The juror is Gloria Plascencia, a Portrait and Fine Art Photographer, Curator, and Accredited Master Photographer.

Juror selections will be announced by July 12. Selected artwork must be hand-delivered to the Palos Verdes Art Center Main Gallery on July 16 between 9:00 and 11:00 am. The exhibition runs July 24 through August 21, with an opening reception on July 24 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. For 2-dimensional artwork, the maximum size is 50x60 inches including framing and weight must not exceed 30 pounds. For 3-dimensional artwork, the maximum size is 72x36x36 inches with a weight limit of 150 pounds. All 2-dimensional work should be ready to hang. PVAC will take a 25% commission on all sales of exhibited artwork. Artwork must remain in the exhibition until August 23 for pick-up. This is the first onsite exhibition since COVID-19; if Los Angeles County orders require lockdown, the exhibition will be virtual only at pvartcenter.org.
