THE SPLENDOR OF BLUE

The MVA Gallery (Modern Visual Arts) invites artists, photographers, and sculptors of all levels to submit original artwork exploring the theme of blue. This national call welcomes all approaches—traditional and non-traditional—with no restrictions on subject matter or style. Artists are encouraged to consider how they utilize blue in their work: Does it permeate the entire image or appear in small sections? Does it manifest in objects, nature, or abstract design? Is it purely decorative or a defining structural device?

Accepted mediums include painting, watercolor, printmaking, mixed media, digital, pastel, encaustic, sculpture, fiber, drawing, and photography. Entry fee is $35.00 for 3 images, with additional images available for $5.00 each up to 9 maximum. Submit 3-9 JPEG images (under 5 MB, minimum 1200 pixels on longest side) through CAFE (CallForEntry.org). Include title, medium, size, price, and year of completion for each work. Artwork must be professionally finished and ready for installation with stretched wire attached to the back. Maximum dimensions: 48 inches (framed) on longest side, not exceeding 50 lbs; sculpture limited to 24 inches on any dimension.

Notification of acceptance will be sent by January 16, 2025. Accepted artwork must arrive by February 28, 2025. The exhibition runs March 5 - April 3, 2025 at the gallery in historic Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Awards include an "Art of Distinction" Award featuring a special exhibition, an Annual Grand Prize offering a New York City exhibition opportunity, and a Director's Choice Award of $200. For accepted work, the gallery retains 30% commission on sales; artists receive 70%. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and insurance. Unsold artwork will be returned April 4-10, 2025.
