The Spirit of Home

Light Art Space invites artists to submit hand-made photographic prints exploring the theme of home and belonging. This call asks artists to consider where they belong and how their artwork represents the feeling of home.

All submitted works must be created using alternative and historic photographic printing processes, including but not limited to: cyanotype, gum bichromate, platinum/palladium, silver gelatin, photopolymer gravure, salt prints, tintypes, carbon prints, hand-manipulated digital prints, and combinations of these processes. Digital negatives are acceptable in creating these processes, but straight inkjet prints and AI-derived works are not eligible. All entries must be hand-made prints created by the artist within the last 4 years. Work needs to arrive at the gallery ready to hang; framing is not required, and artists may use magnets, clips, or other methods with instructions for alternative presentations.

Light Art Space invites LGBTQ, Black, Latinx, Indigenous, and self-identifying artists of color to submit. Artists must be 18 years or older. Entry fee is $35 for 3 images, with $5 for each additional image up to 10 total. Full-time students receive a $20 discount with coupon code "Student". Work is due July 17th, with the opening on July 24th and reception Friday, July 25th, 5-7 pm. The exhibition runs through September 20th, 2025. Sales are encouraged; Light Art Space retains a 50% commission on sold artwork. Juror: Annie Lopez.
